PASTORAL STAFF
Dr. Harold E. Salem, Senior Pastor Harold and his wife, Beulah, joined First Baptist Church in January of 1958 from Belle Fourche, SD, where he served for 13½ years as pastor of First Baptist Church of Belle Fourche. Harold graduated from Black Hills State University with a Bachelors Degree in Literature, Northwestern Theological Seminary with a Masters of Theology Degree, and Northern Baptist Theological Seminary with -a Doctor of Ministry Degree. Harold has served in ministry for 63 years of which 49 have been here in Aberdeen. Harold has also been part of the Billy Graham Ministry team since 1986 where he taught at Billy Graham Schools of Evangelism. Harold and Beulah had been married for 59 1/2 years when she passed away Christmas Eve 2005. They have two sons, Dan and Mike, two daughters, Sharron and Patty, 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Mr. Samuel Ellyson, Associate Pastor of YouthSam and his wife, Laura, joined the First Baptist Church in July of 2005 from Princeton, MN, where he served at Karmel Evangelical Covenant Church for 3 years as the Youth and Family Pastor. Sam graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies. Sam and Laura live in Columbia, SD and have one daughter, Ella.
